Hyderabad is home to one of India's premier cricket stadiums, the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. It became the home field of the Hyderabad Cricket Association in 2003. The arena occupies a 16-acre plot of land and has a seating capacity of 65,000 spectators. Pavilion End and North End are the two ends. The HCA (Hyderabad Cricket Association) decided to honour the state's hero by naming the North End after great international cricketer VVS Laxman upon his retirement.
