Each one of us is enticed by Satan with tailor-made temptations. When we act on those temptations, sin is conceived and produces death.

God knows that sin will steal our potential and kill the plans that He has for us. His desire is for us to stop sin before it stops us.

    S – Sinful thoughts confessed.

When we continue to dwell on those temptations, they lead to action. Kill those tempting thoughts by confessing them to Jesus before they can conceive sin.

T – Think on these things.

After we confess sinful thoughts, change the channel. We must take control of our thought lives. Think about things that are pure, right, noble, worthy, beautiful, and good (Philippians 4:8).

    O – Order our thoughts.

Take every thought captive. From sophisticated arguments to foolish fantasies, we must bring every thought into obedience to Christ.

    P – Pursue Christ relentlessly.

In Christ alone, we find the power to overcome sin. God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. With every temptation, He provides a way of escape.

Live with eyes wide open, aware of the ways Satan will tempt us to sin. Stop sin before it stops you!

    Today's Blessing

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May you be quick to confess temptations and to ask for Jesus’ help to address them. May you keep your thought life in order as you pursue the Lord and His will. He will withhold no good thing from you. In Jesus’ name…amen.

  • Dear LEE,
As a child of God, you have received His Spirit in your life, and His Spirit leads you to live in liberty.

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (the Bible, 2 Corinthians 3:17, NLT)

LEE, you are free to develop a real relationship with the Lord! You can speak to Him at any moment, share your desires and dreams with Him.

This is the liberty that you receive as God’s child...the freedom to know Him but also to love, forgive, and live each day of your life with Him.

Your liberty is the fruit of His infinite victory over death and its power. It allows you to choose to walk in truth and holiness, eyes fixed on Your Savior. It is a gift from God.

Let’s thank the Lord together for His freedom...“Jesus, thank You for the liberty that I have in You! Thank You that I can freely love You, freely forgive, freely live each day of my life with You. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! In Your name, amen.”
    Thanks for existing!

  • "God Helps Those Who Turn from Evil" — Spiritual Warfare for 08/21/2019

Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have claimed. Hate evil and love what is good; turn your courts into true halls of justice. Perhaps even yet the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies will have mercy on the remnant of his people. — Amos 5:14-15 NLT

    Today's Prayer
Lord, many things in this world are so tempting; so very enticing. I confess that I need Your help to resist and remain pure and holy in Your sight. Many things the world calls good are actually evil. Sometimes it seems like no matter how hard I try to stay faithful and true, Lord, temptation rears its ugly head and tries to get me to fall. Give me strength and endurance to finish the race and win the crown of life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  • Today's Verse for 08/21/2019

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

    Thought
Where do you go when you are exhausted and in need of rest? No bed, no vacation, no retreat can give us a truly refreshing rest if that rest doesn't involve coming to Jesus. So what are you waiting for? Come to Jesus and and enjoy the blessings of his presence, his love, his forgiveness, his grace, and his rest!
    Prayer
Almighty God, your Son Jesus is my strength and hope. I look forward to the day when he returns in triumph for me and all of your children. But Father, I want to know him better and to live for him with an undivided heart. I want to find rest in his presence, meaning in his service, and significance in his acceptance. Please bless me as I journey toward a deeper relationship with you and as I gain a more profound knowledge of your Son. In the name of Jesus Christ my Lord, I pray. Amen.

  • Daily Devotional

Dear LEE, Jesus is alive! Death is defeated. After resurrecting from the dead Jesus said in Revelation 1:18, "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."

The time is fast approaching when Christians will be raised in power - and the unsaved will be cast into outer darkness for rejecting Jesus, our Savior.

With love for the lost, share John 3:16 and Romans 10:9-10 with the non-Christians you know.

For each Christian: Imagine all things made new. Imagine no weakness. Imagine Christ's perfection manifested. Imagine your loved ones in Christ perfect in love and glorified. Imagine knowing God as you are known. Imagine the joy of seeing Jesus face to face...

This unending goodness is only possible through Jesus Christ, our Savior.

If you have never called on Jesus to save you, call on Him now, for the Bible promises: "Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2:21)

If you have called on Jesus, thank Him for His perfect love for you. (1 John 4:18)

    Jesus loves you.

I am praying for you to see how much Jesus loves you. In Christ, Steven Andrew

  • Dear LEE,
Did you know that you are made specifically to live in God’s presence?

The presence of your Creator God is your soul’s dwelling place, your heart’s sanctuary. His kind presence is the ideal place to hear His voice, receive His promises, and grow in Him.

“For You have made him most blessed forever; you have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence.” (the Bible, Psalm 21:6, NKJV)

His presence carries and upholds you each day. It illuminates your life’s path. It covers and graces your soul with heavenly joy.

Nothing in this world can compare to these moments of connection and sharing when you stay close to Him, when you seek His face and listen to His voice.

I invite you to seek His presence in the morning, right when you wake up. May your first thoughts be turned toward God. May your first words be for Him. There is nothing more beautiful than starting your day with Jesus!

“My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You,
and I will look up.” (Psalm 5:3)

LEE, enjoy God to the full today and rejoice in His presence!

  • "God's Army that Is With Us" — Spiritual Warfare for 08/20/2019
Elisha said, "Don’t be afraid. The army that fights for us is larger than the one against us." Then Elisha prayed, "Lord, open my servant’s eyes, and let him see." The Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. — 2 Kings 6:16-17 NCV
    Today's Prayer
Lord, thank You for reminding me that You have a mighty and powerful army in the unseen, surrounding me with Your invincible protection in my hour of need. Help me to sense this and let it comfort me in my hour of trial and suffering. May it spur me on to greater commitment to You and faith in Your ability to do all You have promised—even when the world wants me to believe You are dead and gone and powerless. I trust in You alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. — Matthew 6:14 (KJV)

    Thought
As Christians, we live in the environment of forgiveness and grace. As we forgive others, the basis of that forgiveness is the incredible debt that God has already forgiven us (Matthew 18). But at the same time, as God sees that his forgiveness is kept in circulation and passed on to others by us, he joyously pours out more forgiveness on us. As hard as it is to forgive someone when we have been genuinely harmed, Jesus wants us to know that the blessings of doing so far outweigh the costs!
    Prayer
Loving and just God, thank you for cleansing and forgiving me by the atoning sacrifice of your Son Jesus. Thank you for challenging me to forgive others as you have forgiven me. Thank you for demanding that your people be a community of forgiveness. Forgive us, and especially forgive me, when we are reluctant, slow, or suspicious about forgiveness. I ask especially that you will forgive ___ for ____, and I ask you to bless this person with your love and grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
